Camaro Z/28 Cross-Ram · 1969

The 1969 Z/28 runs the DZ302 — a 302-cubic-inch (4.9L) solid-lifter small-block sized deliberately to clear Trans-Am's 5-litre ceiling, factory-rated at a conservative 290 hp when it actually made closer to 360. The over-the-counter cross-ram — a twin-four-barrel aluminum intake homologated for racing and dealer-fitted to relatively few cars — is what separates an ordinary Z/28 from a six-figure one.

The one to have: Documented dealer cross-ram · numbers-matching DZ302 (JL8 discs = bonus)

Know the real one

20,302 Z/28s in 1969 — but the cross-ram dual-quad was never an RPO: dealer-installed Trans-Am homologation hardware, provable only by period invoices + dated components
JL8 4-wheel disc brakes: 206 built
Verify: X77/X33 trim tag, DZ engine pad stamp, tank sticker/build sheet
~$3,700 as delivered; thin verified-sale record — the comp file builds slowly
